I love exploring natural habitats and abandoned places. The solitude and natural form and flow of life can be a great influence when a project reaches 'the wall'. Abandoned buildings and structures are some of my favourite places to explore and fascinate me with how nature is claiming them back, or the potential they possess to become beautiful inhabited spaces once more.

I also enjoy exploring the remaining truly wild places in Britain, enjoying the solitude and silence that enhances the surroundings, finding landscapes and wildlife experiences which not many people are fortunate to enjoy.

Structure and Nature

As influence for some of my BArch projects, I used these explorations and some of the structures I came across to provide me with influences.

These structures were found in the form of an old viaduct, several old mill buildings along side my local length of canal, and along a damn wall at a reservoir I used to frequent when I was a child.
