Converted Annexe, Suffolk

The existing property is a 1950's semi-detached three bedroom house, with extensive garden to the rear and large driveway. Our clients sought to create a self contained one bedroom annexe from an existing detached double garage, which was being used for storage space. 

We largely worked with the existing openings to minimise the impact upon the existing structure, as well as providing cost benefits to our client.

 

Externally, a new patio space to the rear allows for a connection between the living space and the garden. This patio space could also be segregated in future, to provide a distinction between the main house and annexe external areas, should this be required.

Our plans were approved by the local authority without condition, and we then worked closely with Building control to provide a detailed design which surpassed the minimum requirements.

 

This allows the annexe to perform a comfortable and very efficient space. The annexe operates as an Air BnB with permission from the local authority.

The project was completed in Spring 2022.
